If the full cost of a YMCA membership or program creates a financial barrier for you or your family, we encourage you to apply for YMCA Financial Assistance. Our team will work with you to determine available support based on your individual circumstances, helping make YMCA membership and programs more affordable and accessible.
Members who receive financial assistance enjoy the same YMCA membership benefits, programs, facilities and welcoming experience as all other members. The level of financial support you receive is always kept private, and all personal and financial information submitted as part of the application process remains confidential.

- If you are confirmed for Financial Assistance through the instant check process, continue to the Instant Check Confirmed steps below.
- If there is NOT enough information to instantly confirm, continue to Additional Information Needed steps where our teams can work closely with you to assess financial assistance pathways via our standard process.

Current Member: Our membership team will review within 5 business days to update your account.
New Members: Present your Financial Assistance confirmation directly to our staff at your local branch and they will apply the discount.
Non-Members: If you are not a member but wish to use Financial Assistance at the Lake County YMCA, please call us during regular business hours and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process.
If we are unable to instantly confirm you for assistance, don’t worry, you can use our standard process. To utilize our standard process, you’ll need:
- A copy of last year's federal tax return
- OR, provide proof of your monthly household income.
